I am setting the table tonight for my last big dinner party in this house. There will be moving boxes all around our feet at our party, but who cares? We will celebrate and remember all the great moments we have had around this table in this home.
Once again I am reminded that it is the people who have breathed life into this home.
Everyone will bring something to add to the feast. We will have good food and wine, and share with one another what we hope the next chapter of our lives will look like, as well as remember all the many times we gathered around this table in this home.
Several years ago I was shopping for a new dining room table. The table I wanted was too big for my room. My husband encouraged me to get the biggest table so we could always fit one more person. That has never changed. We will continue gathering them. Around our table.
At our dinner parties.
